Sanjay Manjrekar: India registered a spectacular victory by 280 runs in the Test match played against Bangladesh in Chennai. However, Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma’s bat remained silent in both the innings, due to which the fans are very disappointed. A total of 23 runs came from Kohli’s bat, while captain Rohit was able to score only 11 runs in both the innings. Meanwhile, after the end of the match, there is a discussion about the poor performance of both the big players, while former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has directly targeted the BCCI. Sanjay Manjrekar believes that the special treatment given by the BCCI to the current two big players of the team, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, is hurting Indian cricket and both of them. According to Manjrekar, if Virat-Rohit were a part of the Duleep Trophy, then things would have been different.
Regarding this, he said, “I am definitely not worried, but it is a fact that if Virat and Rohit had played red ball cricket before the Bangladesh match, they would not have faced so many difficulties. BCCI should have selected them for the Duleep Trophy. Both of them not being a part of this domestic tournament is not a good thing for Indian cricket. If they had played the Duleep Trophy, things would have been different. For a long time, there has been a problem in Indian cricket that big players are given special treatment, which harms those players. We should take this precaution in future.”

Sanjay Manjrekar: Ashwin showed excellent all-round performance against Bangladesh
In the first Test match played against Bangladesh, Ravichandran Ashwin gave a brilliant all-round performance and contributed significantly to the victory of the Indian team. During this, Ashwin scored a brilliant century while batting in the first innings and took 6 wickets while bowling in the second innings of Bangladesh. In such a situation, even though the bats of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remained silent, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill along with Ashwin performed brilliantly and played an important role in India’s victory.
